Reading V Is 55:1-11
Thus says the LORD:
All you who are thirsty,
come to the water!
You who have no money,
come, receive grain and eat;
come, without paying and without cost,
drink wine and milk!
Why spend your money for what is not bread,
your wages for what fails to satisfy?
Heed me, and you shall eat well,
you shall delight in rich fare.
Come to me heedfully,
listen, that you may have life.
I will renew with you the everlasting covenant,
the benefits assured to David.
As I made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander of nations,
so shall you summon a nation you knew not,
and nations that knew you not shall run to you,
because of the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, who has glorified you.
Seek the LORD while he may be found,
call him while he is near.
Let the scoundrel forsake his way,
and the wicked man his thoughts;
let him turn to the LORD for mercy;
to our God, who is generous in forgiving.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
nor are your ways my ways, says the LORD.
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so high are my ways above your ways
and my thoughts above your thoughts.
For just as from the heavens
the rain and snow come down
and do not return there
till they have watered the earth,
making it fertile and fruitful,
giving seed to the one who sows
and bread to the one who eats,
so shall my word be
that goes forth from my mouth;
my word shall not return to me void,
but shall do my will,
achieving the end for which I sent it.

God indeed is my savior;
I am confident and unafraid.
My strength and my courage is the LORD,
and he has been my savior.
With joy you will draw water

among the nations make known his deeds,
proclaim how exalted is his name.

Sexta Lectura Bar 3, 9-15. 32–4, 4
Escucha, Israel, los mandatos de vida,
presta oído para que adquieras prudencia.
¿A qué se debe, Israel, que estés aún en país enemigo,
que envejezcas en tierra extranjera,
que te hayas contaminado por el trato con los muertos,
que te veas contado entre los que descienden al abismo?
Es que abandonaste la fuente de la sabiduría.
Si hubieras seguido los senderos de Dios,
habitarías en paz eternamente.
Aprende dónde están la prudencia,
la inteligencia y la energía,
así aprenderás dónde se encuentra el secreto de vivir larga vida,
y dónde la luz de los ojos y la paz.
¿Quién es el que halló el lugar de la sabiduría
y tuvo acceso a sus tesoros?
El que todo lo sabe, la conoce;
con su inteligencia la ha escudriñado.
El que cimentó la tierra para todos los tiempos,
y la pobló de animales cuadrúpedos;
el que envía la luz, y ella va,
la llama, y temblorosa le obedece;
llama a los astros, que brillan jubilosos
en sus puestos de guardia,
y ellos le responden: "Aquí estamos",
y refulgen gozosos para aquel que los hizo.
Él es nuestro Dios
y no hay otro como él;
él ha escudriñado los caminos de la sabiduría
y se la dio a su hijo Jacob,
a Israel, su predilecto.
Después de esto, ella apareció en el mundo
y convivió con los hombres.
La sabiduría es el libro de los mandatos de Dios,
la ley de validez eterna;
los que la guardan, vivirán,
los que la abandonan, morirán.
Vuélvete a ella, Jacob, y abrázala;
camina hacia la claridad de su luz;
no entregues a otros tu gloria,
ni tu dignidad a un pueblo extranjero.
Bienaventurados nosotros, Israel,
porque lo que agrada al Señor
nos ha sido revelado.
