On behalf of Good Shepherd and our Pastor Father Jesus Arias, we would like to wish all mothers a Blessed Mother's Day this Sunday, May 10th.

A Special Blessing From Our Pastor:
May Almighty God and His Blessed Mother bless all Mothers who have given us life and love, and to all mothers who love their adopted children let us give them love and reverence; for mothers who have lost a child may their faith give them hope and may their families and friends support and console them, and for our deceased mothers and grandmothers that they may have the joy of God’s Kingdom.  Father Jesus Arias, Pastor

"Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother* and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his home."  John 19:25-27

"Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it." Proverbs 22:6

The Respect Life Ministry of Good Shepherd calls everyone to prayer this month for the defense of the unborn. Please take a moment to pray for all life and especially for the unborn and their mothers. Click here for the Prayer for Life program.

In the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are given the model of motherhood. When the angel Gabriel appeared to her, Mary accepted the invitation to be the mother of Jesus, who is “the way and the truth and the life” (Jn 14:6). Her unexpected pregnancy presented many challenges. Yet while the path laid before her was not easy, Mary chose to give of herself in sacrificial love.
